1

The four fundamental forces of Creation

gravitational, electromagnetic, weak force, strong force

4

What is the first of the Universal Laws of Gravitation?

All objects with mass are attracted to one another by the gravitational force.

9

Define - Centripetal Force

The force necessary to make an object move in a circle. (It is directed perpendicular to the velocity of the object, which means it points toward the center of the circle.)

12

The four "inner planets" are:

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars

14

The four "outer planets" are:

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune

17

Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune have several things in common. Name three.

They are outer planets. They have similar compositions. They all have rings. They all have satellites. They are all very cold.

20

A planet must meet three criteria. What are two of them?

A planet must be in orbit around the sun. A planet must be nearly round in shape. A planet must have "cleared the neighborhood" around its orbit.

22

A planet must meet three criteria. What are two of them?

A planet must be in orbit around the sun. A planet must be nearly round in shape. A planet must have "cleared the neighborhood" around its orbit.

29

Define Geocentric.

In a geocentric system, the earth is placed at the center of the solar system. The ancient Greeks developed this system to explain and predict the motion of the moon and other planets.

30

Name the three principles of Newton's Law of Gravitation.

All objects with mass are attracted to one another by the G force. The G force between two masses is directly proportional to the mass of each. The G force btwn 2 masses in inversely proportional to the square of the distance btwn those 2 objects.

32

Name the three parts of a comet.

nucleus, coma, tail

35

List the planets that have rings.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
