Through a unique social justice lens, students will delve into the complex factors that shape the well-being of women, children, and families. The course takes a holistic approach, examining developmental, demographic, epidemiological, economic, political, behavioral, and social aspects that impact maternal and child health outcomes.
This course is designed as an introductory level course and has no specific prerequisites. However, a genuine interest in public health, social justice, and the well-being of women and children would be beneficial.

The equitable education online course aims to educate, raise awareness and build capacity on ten core aspects of equitable education, why they are important, and what can be done in order to implement them in practice.

In this capstone course learners will integrate and synthesize knowledge gained from the four preceding courses and apply that knowledge to real-world maternal and child health scenarios nationally and globally. Learners will explore the health and well-being of adolescent girls globally, climate change, women’s economic empowerment, and maternal health in the U.S.

This process will help students see how using a multi-disciplinary, cross cultural approach to understanding the root causes of these issues supports a construction of resilient and sustainable solutions.
Learn about evidence-based strategies and approaches to preventing and responding to violence against children. Whether you are a practitioner, policymaker, funder or someone who cares deeply about this issue, this course will strengthen your knowledge about forms of violence against children, how societal, community, and family-level factors affect violence, and how the evidence-based INSPIRE framework and strategies can help to end violence against children.
In five weeks, we explore some of the major challenges, approaches and strategies for addressing pressing, complex socio-environmental issues in the classroom, using critical action as a pedagogical perspective.
