Hi, I’m Jessica Sanders, a self-taught watercolor and mixed-media artist who loves exploring art and sharing it with you!
Let’s paint a loose and sketchy abstract florals together!!
In this class for any level student, we will explore painting beautiful abstract florals.
I will walk you through painting three basic floral shapes, and practicing loose sketchy lines. I will demonstrate how to mix coral, teal, and interesting green paint colors for our watercolor flowers.
Then, we will chat about layers and details.
I will walk you through 2 different paintings: a small floral, and a larger coral florals painting.
This class is not a realistic class. The approach is loose, impressionistic, and abstract.
Above all, our focus is on relaxing, staying loose, and enjoying the painting process.
And…..Secretly, almost like magic, we will improve our art and watercolor skills!
Into this class, we’ll draw an adorable flower creature. You'll learn how to draw a cute picture by using simple techniques. We're starting from scratch, so you don't need any additional preparations.
This class doesn’t require any prior experience or fancy tools. Everything you’ll see will be happening in Procreate, however if you have other software or want to try traditional materials – you’re welcome to join!
I have tried different styles in painting watercolor florals – doodles, illustration, semi-realistic, realistic, atmospheric, semi abstract – but I always find myself going back to loose and expressive flowers. Personally, it feels liberating, the style is forgiving and gives room for expression.
Flowers are an essential in many homes these days, and there's an endless opportunity for creativity and beauty in their presentation. What flowers do you select? How do you mix them together to make an arrangement work? How can you transform simple beauty into exquisite beauty?
