Environmental Conservation Course Overview


Course Description

This course provides an interdisciplinary perspective on environmental conservation which is essential for both human and environmental well-being. It is ideal for civil society groups, NGOs, students, and other interested citizens. The course leverages various interactive tools including graphic, textual, and audio-visual content to illustrate definitions, contemporary discussions, and methodological tools in environmental conservation.

Learning Outcomes

Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of:

  • Basic concepts of biodiversity and methods for estimating ecosystem services.
  • The drivers of deforestation and the impacts of climate change on biodiversity.
  • Diverse perspectives on nature conservation, including global ecosystems and conservation efforts.
  • Key conservation strategies, the role of social values in conservation processes, and the use of social and cultural evaluations in these processes.
